I’m on a roll!

FLower is done, leaf/stem almost done.  And I’ve started the leaf/stem of the next flower.

And now this will rest for a month or so.  My baby name sampler has arrived and I’ll start working on that!  I’ll take a picture of that kit tonight and try to remember to post it.

HDF Needlework Exhibition

Yesterday my stitching group went to a needlework exhibition.  Long drive!  But worth it.  It was a very nice day.  We went straight to the exhibit, lol, but we were all hungry!  Maybe next year we’ll eat first!  Anyway, lots of good deals and amazing stitching!  The 9/11 quilts were there too.  Very moving to see them. 

Each of the stars has a stitched quilt block in it representing each state along with the year they became part of the union.

The other thing we got to do was dye some fabric!  or floss, but I only brought fabric with me.  I did an orange one and a green one.  Neither turned out as dark as I’d like, but they are still pretty interesting!

Do you know what is really funny?  Those two pictures were taken in the exact same location, right after each other, no lighting changes.  One makes my off white rug look blue, the other makes it look pink!

I’m kinda bummed that I didn’t keep track of my weeks.  And I bet if I went back and looked, I could figure out how many weeks, but that feels like too much work.  So, for now…this picture is just….NEXT!  I like it better in pictures than in real life.  Not to say I dont’ like it in real life, I do, it’s just blotchy right now.  But when I look at the picture, I see the whole, if that makes any sense at all.

AND I’ve participated in an exchange on one of my boards.  It was a fun one, Kit a Freebie.  It was also my first exchange, so I was a wee bit tense choosing the chart, then the fabric and floss.  I changed my mind a couple times.  But finally decided on a pumpkin band sampler from this site:  http://www.createanddecorate.com/downloads/  it has different types of crafts, but several cross stitch ones.  So, this is what I sent:
